Bday Pressie?

Guess what I got from my boss; no its not speedometer/powermeter for my bike but rather a blood glucose meter. I wonder what does that mean? Should I be doing more at work??
Well, she didnt really say it was a Bday pressie anyway. But unfortunately, its not gonna to provide a lot of information if you're not a Diabetic cos your blood sugar levels will be close to normal in most circumstances.
Now if this was a blood lactate meter, that would be a whole different ball game.

How original!!! heehee...

We use those exact same ones in Mildura and I must say they are really crap compared to others which I've used before. For some reason I can never figure out how to turn them on properly and when to put the blood on??!!!

We've got lactate meters at the Women's to see if the baby is distressed enough for an emergency C-section. What we do is use a long, metal stick with a small blade at the end of it, get the patient up in stirrups and nick the baby's head to get a blood sample - much like a BSL.

Of course..the baby has to be cephalic-lar!!! :):)

Well, i'm not as bad as another workmate who test her own blood sugars after a piece of cake and go.."phew still ok".

Cat, I've seen worse ones! All u need to do next time is put a strip in, and it autos on and ask for your blood.

Hmm...blood sugar. Correct term blood glucose. People with diabetes use the meter to test how their high their blood glucose is after a meal.
And by the way, all carbs break down to glucose/sugar which the body draws on for energy
